Cyber Bullying in the News

                        Author: Lizette Alvarez

      Date:September 13, 2013

Source: New York Times news article.

Who: A twelve year old girl named Rebecca Ann Sedwick. This article is tragic, Rebecca was younger than me and she still committed suicide. Rebecca shouldn't have done this. She was pretty and smart, she didn't need to kill herself. if I was her would have told my mom, at least this way I wouldn't kill or harm myself in any way.

What: She committed suicide after being cyber bullied. Rebecca shouldn't have listened to cyber bullies. They didn't know if she was pretty or ugly. They didn't know whether she deserved to live or not. Those people should be punished for doing all that to Rebecca.

Where: In Miami, Florida. The United States of America.

When: I do not know when she committed suicide, but the article was published on September 13, 2013.

Why : The reason that Rebecca decided to kill herself is that people bullied her to much and she felt lonely. Rebecca even switched schools because of bullying, but later the new school started bullying her as well.      This made me feel sad that someone that is so smart and pretty committed suicide because of bullying. it also made me realize that you can get bullied for anything. It also made me realize how powerful bullying is and what effects it leaves on people. What i still don't get is why they would bully her. She was such a successful child, what did they bully her for? How come Rebecca ended up killing herself? Can bullying really go to this extend? I don't have any connections to this article.
